Detroit's Got Talent

Hello, welcome to the official website of Detroit's Got Talent Youth Showcase. This amazing vision was driven by Wanda Fountain Coates, Founder & Director of Special Touch Learning Center, Inc., November of 2011. The goal was to allow children between the ages of 7-17 to have a chance to display their natural gifts and talents live on stage. An unique team was formed and on Saturday, April 28, 2012 Metro-Detroit children were invited to audition at Wayne State Univiersity. About 30 students were selected, weekly training sessions began from May 05, 2012 until May 26, 2012. After training, the children performed live on Saturday, June 02, 2012 at the General Lectures Building in front of an audience of 200 people. The children were great and 4 finalist were selected from the instrumental, dance, vocal, and rap divisions. These children competed as a part of the 2 day youth conference. Prizes and awards were given, please stay posted for the next round of auditions for the Detroit's Got Talent Youth Showcase 2014.

Da 'Lonte Porter

Hello, my name is Da 'Lonte Potter I'm 15 years old and a Honor Role student at Michigan Collegiate High School. I've been singing and dancing every since I was five years old. I remember when it all started, I was in my grandparents living room listening to James Brown and Michael Jackson. They were both amazed that I was able to dance like James and sing like little Michael. Every since that day, I was introduced to the whole music business. I love what I do I want to do this for the rest of my life. I thank the two legends James Brown and Michael Jackson for showing me the ropes in the industry. I also want to thank God for giving me this talent to show the world what I have.
